Activities

The VSSD organizes many activities, attended by lots of students in an active or passive way. Actions and demonstrations against plans that don’t keep students’ interests in mind, but also discussion evenings and symposia are part of the VSSD activities. The Union consists of a board (formed by students), personnel and the active members.

What we do
Looking after students’ interests means there is a wide range of activities possible. The four main areas of attention are housing, education, student finances and social issues.
The VSSD is active locally as well as nationwide: discussions with the ministry are held via the ISO and LSVb.

What you can do
Groups of students each discuss about one of the areas of activity of the VSSD. Plans are being made and projects are being started. Every area of attention has its own task group. If you’re interested in housing, education, student finances or social issues let us know and join one of the groups.
When a group decides to organise a symposium, perform a research or publish a booklet or guide, project groups are started. Other students are then asked to join. Some of these projects span an entire year, others only weeks.
There are also committees, for example to organize the drinks, the so-called Kaasch en Wijn (Cheese and Wine), or for the editing of the Orakel, our periodical, which is sent to all members.

The Delft International Student Society (DISS) has been started to organize activities and keep a special eye out for the interests of international students. They also organize special activities for international student. Take a look at their website!
