Service System (PSS) concept is a design methodology-based
business model to increase eco-effi ciency from a systemic
perspective. The goal of this study is to establish the
basis of Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided
Engineering (CAD/CAE) tools for design and analysis of
products, services, and their interrelations in a PSS
business model, concurrently and systematically. Based on
the review of service and life cycle modeling methods,
formal properties of the design information used in PSS
business models are analyzed for the theoretical foundation
of CAD tools used in the design process. The analysis leads
to the development of Service CAD for the conceptual design
of PSS business models. Service CAD is integrated with a
Life Cycle Simulator, which supports quantitative analysis
of PSS business models as a CAE tool. To demonstrate the
utility of the tool in different scenarios, it has been used
for the design and analysis of services and other operations
in a product life cycle. The tool is also used for the
analysis of service in a sustainable tourism destination
